About Ngeve
Christine is an LCSW-A/LCAS-A who specializes in anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, COVID adjustment, racial identity, and life stressors in student-athletes, teenagers, young adults, and adults. Christine’s therapeutic approach is grounded in a variety of modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). She focuses on challenging and changing cognitive distortions and behaviors, improving emotional regulation, and developing personal coping strategies to solve current problems.
She also finds herself using the interpersonal process approach with her clients analyzing and processing how their relational experiences, thoughts about themselves, and upbringing have an impact on their present life.
Christine believes in using a person-centered approach with her clients. She views herself as someone who is congruent with her clients allowing them to view her as someone who produces a comfortable setting and builds self-rapport. Christine views unconditional positive regard as a necessity when working with clients to allow them to know that she accepts them for where they are and who they are. While doing this, she shows empathy with her client when they are discussing their emotions and feelings about what is happening.
